Abstract

L-Glutamic acid is prepared by cultivating Brevibacterium divaricatum NRRL B-2620 in an aqueous nutrient medium under submerged aerobic conditions. The aqueous nutrient medium preferably contains an assimilable carbohydrate together with an assimilable source of nitrogen.
