Abstract

959,271. Securing bolts against loss and unauthorized removal. SIMPLEX ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. July 9, 1960 [July 1, 1959], No. 22530/59. Heading F2H. [Also in Divisions E2 and H2] A container, such as for switch gear or fuses, is provided with a holder adapted to retain a padlock in an operative position on the contaner such that it denies access to a screw 19 for releasing a cover 15 from the container, the padlock being removable from the holder on unlocking of its hasp 28 to give access to the screw. The padlock is held between upstanding plates 30 and 31, its hasp passing through a hole 39 and slot 38 in plate 30. A corner piece 35 presents rotation of the holder, and an aperture 36 in plate 31 allows introduction of a key for the padlock. Removal of the padlock allows access to the screw 19 which passes through a bracket 23 on a wall 11 of the container and is provided with a collar 19a which is fixed or slightly screwed in place. Gaskets 21 and 25 hermetically seal the container. The screw may be arranged to hold the cover closed without penetrating the cover or container body.
