Abstract

940,906. Slush-moulding. CHEMISCHE WERKE HULS A.G. April 3, 1962 [April 25, 1961], No. 12680/62. Heading B5A. A hollow article is slushmoulded by filling a heated mould with a plastics dispersion from an inlet 5 at the bottom of the mould, inverting the mould and then draining the ungelled dispersion from an outlet 4 at the bottom. The ungelled dispersion may be blown or sucked out. The dispersion is preferably a polyvinyl chloride plastisol but may be of latex, rubber or a liquid polyester resin. The hollow article may be used as a coating for a solid article, e.g. an arm rest for a car door, by filling it with an expanded plastics material while still in the mould.
