Abstract
944,950. Vibrating screens. E. P. SCRAGG. Dec. 12, 1961 [Dec. 15, 1960], No. 44434/61. Heading B2H. A vibrating screen comprises at least one upper and one lower screen deck 3 and 4 interconnected by a plurality of chevron-shaped levers 5 pivotally mounted on stanchions and actuated, so as to impart a vibratory motion to the decks 3, 4, by an electric motor 2 through an eccentric 10, cam or crank, and arms 9, 8. A blind deck 11 may be arranged beneath one or both decks 3, 4 to collect fines passing through the screens for delivery to a shoot 12. The decks 3, 4 are statically and dynamically balanced and the arrangement is such that the material passes along the upper deck 3 in the opposite direction to that passing along the lower deck 4. The lever 5 may be connected to the decks 3, 4 through resilient bushes of non- circular cross-section.
