Abstract

934,829. Container closures; opening containers. J. WEISS. June 27. 1961. No. 23126/61. Classes 66 and 125(3) A canister top 22 to fit by friction both sealed and opened cans has a central knob 23 and inclined side wall 25 having an outwardly extending external offset between inclined portions 26, 27 which enable the top to fit cans of varying diameters. The interior of knob 23 is hollow and may hold a moistened sponge. The top is supplied fitted as a supplemental top to a sealed can, which may be opened by removing a strip as shown in Fig. 3.
