Abstract

The invention comprises: (a) compounds of the general formulae H2N.CX.NH.C6F5 (I) wherein X represents oxygen or sulphur, and R.CO.NH.CO.NH2 (II) wherein R represents C6F5-, C6F5CH2-, C6F5CH2CH2- or <FORM:0923365/IV(a)/1> ; (b) the preparation of compounds (I) by reacting 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluoroaniline with cyanate or thiocyanate ions under acid conditions; and (c) the preparation of compounds (II) by reacting urea with the appropriate acid chloride or bromide. The products are intended for use as sedatives and hypnotics.
