Abstract
925,791. Hollow rollers. KURASHIKI RAYON KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Nov. 25, 1959 [Dec. 5, 1958], No. 40020/59. Class 34 (1). A roller 3, Fig. 1, for drying synthetic fibres comprises an annular chamber 4 filled with a heat conducting vapour or liquid medium 5 which is heated by thermostatically controlled electric elements 6. An electrical source is connected to the heaters and a thermostat 7 via brush and slip ring equipment and a central bore of the shaft 2 on which the roller is mounted. In a modified roller each element 6 is encased in a sheath which spans the chamber 4 between the roller side walls whilst in a further embodiment the elements 6, Fig. 5, are arranged in the interior of the roller.
