The invention resides in modifications in the control of registry stages in the remote control and indicating system described in Specification 886,663 referred to in the Provisional Specification. Each registry stage, e.g. stage n, is made responsive to the receiver output when the associated stage (N) of the counting chain is activated by the stepping pulses, the registry stage being again made unresponsive to the receiver output when the next stage (N+1) of the counting chain is activated by the next following stepping pulse. This action is achieved by connecting two variable impedance shunt paths from the receiver output to earth, the impedance of the paths being controlled by connections to appropriate transistors in the counting chain states (N, N+1). The shunt paths include either diodes or transistors, Figs. 1, 4 (not shown), which are controlled by counting-chain stages to provide a high impedance path to earth for the receiver output only during the appropriate interval of a stepping pulse cycle.
