Abstract
2:5-Diarylamino-terephthalic acid esters are prepared by heating a 2:5-diarylamino-dihydroterephthalic acid ester with nitrobenzene. In an example 2:5-di(p-nitroanilino)-dihydroterephthalic acid ester diethyl ester is heated under reflux with nitrobenzene, the crystals of 2 : 5-di(p-nitro-anilino)-terephthalic acid diethyl ester are filtered off, washed with alcohol and dried. In further examples 2 : 5-di-anilino-, -p-toluidino-, -(11 - or 21-naphthylamino)-, -(21-methyl- or -methoxy-41- or -51-nitro-anilino)-, -(41-hydroxy- or -methoxy-anilino)- and -(21 : 51-dichloro-anilino-terephthalic acid diethyl esters are prepared.
