Abstract

919,494. Service conduits in walls. MANUEL, J. S. March 22, 1960 [March 18, 1959], No. 9476/59. Class 20 (2). [Also in Group XXXV] For carrying electric cables, or gas or water pipes, prefabricated lengths of steel trough 10 set in concrete 12 bear at intervals pairs of vertical bars 20 secured by bolts 14 into ragtails 16, on which bars are mounted saddle-straps 22 bearing brackets 24, 25 to support the cables or pipes 28. During concrete pouring the trough sides are spaced apart temporarily by magnetic ended members 38 or by the capping chequerplates resting on shoulders 34. Lengths of trough are overlapped and bitumen sealed, and are electrically bonded. Standard lengths of trough, certain T and L junctions and crossovers may be provided.
