Abstract

915,402. Laminated springs. WOODHEAD & SONS (LEEDS) Ltd., JONAS. April 12, 1961 [May 20, 1960], No. 17900/60. Class 108(3). A variable rate spring assembly comprises a half-elliptic leaf spring 10 anchored at end 11 to a vehicle frame 13 and at the other end bearing against a spring-loaded fixed profile cam 14 which is pivoted at 15 to the frame 13 and preferably has wings 19 which locate the leaf spring transversely and support rebound stop pin 20. The cam spring loading is provided by a rubber spring 17 or by one or more coil spring.
