Abstract
An alloy comprises .15 to 30% Cr;. .5 to 15% W;. .0.5 to 20% Ta;. .0.01 to 3% Zr;. .0.1 to 1.3% C;. .balance essentially Co.. There may also be present one or more of the following:-up to 3% Nb but not exceeding 1/2 Ta; up to 3.5% Mo but not exceeding 1/2 W; not greater than 0.5% Ti, Zr being present, but Ti not exceeding 70% Zr; up to 0.2% B; up to 1.5% Si; up to 6% Ni+Si or Fe+Si or Ni+Fe+Si.
