Abstract
901,975. Sewage. METALLGESELLSCHAFT A.G. July 15, 1959 [July 19, 1958], No. 24374/59. Class 111. An activated sludge tank 5 is aerated by pipe 17. In the sedimentation tank 10 at least part of the activated sludge is added via pipe 11 while flocculants are added at pipe 12. Weirs 3 and 8 control the flow of liquids to the tanks. In an embodiment (not shown) where the activated sludge tank is replaced by a percolating filter the sludge added to increase flocculation must be withdrawn from the filter and specially activated by aeration.
