Abstract

908,953. Retractive switches. TAPESWITCH CORPORATION OF AMERICA. Aug. 19, 1959 [Sept. 2, 1958], No. 28408/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (5). A switching mat comprises bottom and top flexible insulating sheets with a plurality of superposed upper and lower conducting strips therebetween. Insulating strips substantially narrower in width than the conducting strips are provided between the respective upper and lower conducting strips such that electrical contact may be made at any point along the length of the opposing contact strips without substantially deforming said insulating strips. The upper and lower conducting strips are respectively connected in parallel by flexible wires or strips. The mat may be rolled up without short circuiting. Several alternative arrangements of the insulating and conducting strips are described (Figs. 4-7, not shown).
