Abstract

908,706. Grinding. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 20, 1959 [July 21, 1958], No. 23404/58. Class 60. [Also in Group XXII] Internal or external toroidal surfaces are ground by a grinding wheel rotating about its own axis on an arm revolving about an axis C, Fig. 2, the work 4 being carried on a table 3 pivoted about an axis A lying in a plane AB, Fig. 1, passing through the wheel and across a diameter of the surface. The table is fed upwardly by screw-jacks 16 driven by an electric motor 8 via a belt, worm and worm-wheel 9, shaft 10, worms and worm-wheels 11 and universal joints 13. Plate 3 is set up initially by screws 17. Motor 8 may be replaced by a handle.
