907,824. Earth - boring equipment. DOWTY ROTOL Ltd. March 10, 1961 [Feb. 8,1960], No. 4380/60. Class 85. An earth-drilling rig comprises three lifts 11, 15, 19, each arranged one above the other to pull out or run in a string of drill pipes, the lifts being arranged during such operations to support the weight of the drill pipe string in turn over a working stroke of approximately one-third of an average pipe length, whilst mechanism 37 associated with the intermediate lift 15 breaks or makes the pipe joints of the string. Specification 875,127 is referred to.
