Abstract

892,839. Endless-belt conveyers. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. May 24, 1960 [Sept. 30, 1959], No. 33241/59. Class 78 (1). Cans 4 which are normally conveyed by resting on a movable endless belt 1, may be raised out of contact with the belt 1 by lifting elements 7, 8. The latter are operated by means of an arm 12. Groups of respective arms 12 may be connected by rods 13 (Fig. 4), so that the cans on an associated section of the conveyer may have their conveying movement arrested. The elements 7, 8 consist of wires which may be fixed at one end and resiliently anchored at the other by a spring 16. A rod 13 connecting the group of arms 12 may be selectively operated by solenoid, pneumatic, hydraulic, or mechanical means, initiated and terminated by a cam-operated pressure-responsive switch (not shown).
