890,355. Mixing machines. POLYMAR SURSEE A.G. Dec. 16, 1960, No. 43481/60. Class 86. A mixer for paste and powder materials has a container 5 pivoted on a shaft 4 for tilting by a lever 40, arranged between two hollow columns 2, 3 and having fastened to its underside an electric motor 6 driving a shaft 7 carrying an upper, convexly curved stirrer 72 and three lower stirrers 711, 712 concavely curved to conform to the shape of the container bottom; they are angled so that the two blades 712 press material towards the bottom of the container while the blade 711 urges it upward. A lid 8 sliding in guides on the columns 2, 3, and suspended by cables 21, 31 on counterweights 22, 23 carries a second motor 81 which drives angled, spade-like mixing and scraping blades 84 in counter-rotation to the mixing blades 711, 712, 72. The switch lever 9 controlling the motors 6, 81 carries a cam which inserts a stop member under the counterweight 22. (see Figs. 3, 4 not shown), so that the lid cannot be lifted when the switch is in the 'on' position; nor can the switch lever 9 be moved thereto until the lid is closed. The container 5 may have a jacket 50 for a heat exchange medium supplied by a spiral pipe 52.
