Abstract

898,166. Packaging. SAFE-T PACIFIC BAKING CO. March 16, 1959 [March 19, 1958; Sept. 15, 1958], No. 9075/59. Class 94(1). Fragile articles are protected in cartons by surrounding them with a loose portable mass of small hollow cylinders. The interior of articles such as 18 is also filled. The cylinders may be the waste ends 12 produced in the manufacture of drinking straws or may be made from plastic tubing &c. They may be formed of or coated with rubber or may adhere to each other under pressure so as better to resist migration of the packed article towards the carton walls. Contents such as plates may be separated with adjacent cylinders, by dividing sheets such as 32.
