Abstract

898,121. Spectator stands. MARGADANT, P. Sept. 11, 1959, No. 31060/59. Class 20(1) A spectator stand comprises a framework supporting and interlocked with seat members b and footrest members c, the framework comprising an assembly of frames a which mutually interlock or interlock with subsidiary frames d, e, whereby the frames are secured against movement in three mutually perpendicular directions by means which are integral with the respective frames. The frames a are disposed in vertical planes at either end of the stand and are of triangular shape; each frame, other than the foremost, being disposed above and to the rear of the preceding frame, and being supported by subsidiary triangular frames d, e. The frames a, and subsidiary frames d, e, interlock at points such as V, VI, VII, VIII by spigot and socket constructions; there being no separate fastening members required to effect the erection of the stand. The seat, footrest, and hand-rail g members similarly interlock with the framework. A stairway j may be provided.
