884,202. Forming absorbent fibrous webs &c. JOA, C. G. Feb. 13, 1958, No. 13919/61. Divided out of 884,193. Class 96. A fibrous web formed continuously on an upwardly-travelling conveyer-screen 10 as disclosed in Specification 884,193 is divided longitudinally into continuous strips by series of flexible arms 7 spaced along a rapidly rotating shaft 1, the arms 7 wiping the surface of the conveyer-screen 10 between the strips free from fibres. The outer surfaces of the strips thus formed are smoothed by blades 5. The parts of the screen 10 adjacent to the arms 7 may be masked to reduce or prevent web-formation there.
