Abstract
873,900. Cores for dynamo-electric machines. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 20, 1958 [April 17, 1957], No. 12555/57. Class 35. Segmental core laminations 6, 6a are located by recesses 9 engaging longitudinal bars 4, 4a welded into semi-circular recesses 2, 3 in frame plates 1. These apertures in the frame plates are made by drilling a ring of holes and then boring out the centre. If there are an even number of winding slots per lamination segment (as shown), the recesses 2, 3 are evenly spaced, but if the number is odd, then the spacing is alternate. The bars 4 have threaded ends for the attachment of the end plates of the lamination stack. The bars have longitudinal slots to render them less rigid and to reduce the transmission of vibration to the machine frame. These slots may be tapered and may completely pierce the bars or not. The recesses 2, 3 may be more or less than semi-circular.
