Abstract
872,071. Capacitors. HUNT (CAPACITORS) Ltd., A. H. April 28, 1960 [May 5, 1959], No. 15421/59. Class 37. A foil or metallized roll capacitor having axially projecting opposed leads 12, 13 (Fig. 1), is enclosed in a moulded tubular thermoplastic casing 11, and lead 12 is bent round the casing exterior to project in the same direction as lead 13 through a hollow rib 15 formed on an enlarged rim 14 of the casing formed with three symmetrical projecting spacers 16, whereby the capacitor assembly is adapted for connection into a printed circuit. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown), the casing is of uniform diameter formed with a hollow rib for the bent lead and an upstanding ring for seating on a printed circuit panel. The casing may be pressure-moulded round a standard capacitor enclosed in similar thermoplastic material, using a two-part cylindrical mould with holes in its end wall locating the terminal leads. The Provisional Specification mentions polyethylene, nylon, or methyl methacrylate as materials for the moulded casing and extends the latter to components other than capacitors.
