879,224. Fuel atomizers. DE LA FOURNIERE M. M. P. R. Oct. 16, 1957 [Oct. 17, 1956], No. 32283/57. Class 75(1). [Also in Group XXIX] A fluid mixing and atomizing device, especially for burners comprises a chamber 1 having opposite walls connected together by a side shaped as a logarithmic spiral, the chamber having a circular aperture in one wall, the centre of the aperture coinciding with the pole of the spiral, fluid entering the chamber at the end remote from the aperture, a second fluid being fed into the central region by a duct 5 opposite the aperture and the mixture escaping through the aperture. The aperture may be extended by a tube 4 and the duct'5 may extend to the surface of the aperture or to the discharge end of the tube. The cross-section of the chamber may be rectangular. The device may be used for carburation, aerosol producing or as a paint gun.
