876,249. Magnetostrictive devices. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 17, 1959 [Feb. 20, 1958], No. 5475/59. Class 40 (4). To allow cooling, the outer casing of the magnetostrictive generator described in Specification 876,248 is formed as a number of current conductors 8 which do not form a complete enclosure. The casing may include conductive gauze material. The conductors 8 and the vessel 1 form a closed secondary circuit linked with the ferrite rings and the transformer core 5.
