Abstract

876,101. Labels. TlCKOPRES Ltd. June 16, 1960 [June 17, 1959], No. 20833/59. Class 73. Relates to self-adhesive labels formed from a multi-ply paper reel or strip comprising a web of paper coated on the back with a rubber latex or similar adhesive and a silicone-treated backing web for protecting the adhesive. According to the invention a column of separated labels extending longitudinally along the strip is formed by single cuts 14 which are made through the surface ply only and extend the width of the strip between adjacent labels leaving the backing web intact. Each label is formed with perforations 21 for sensing during overprinting of the labels. Several columns of labels may be provided on a single wide strip by cuts through the surface ply along the length of the strip.
