Abstract

875,926. Sliding clasp fasteners. PLASCO Ltd. April 14, 1958 [April 15, 1957], No. 11718/58. Class 44. In a so-called scoop for separable fastener stringers, a bottom side 13 of the scoop has a portion adapted to project beyond a beaded edge 10<SP>1</SP> of a stringer tape 10 and includes ledge surfaces 18 merging with a female coupling portion 15 of a top side 12 of the scoop, a male coupling portion 14 of the scoop having a lower surface 16 parallel to and spaced from the ledge surfaces 18 and adapted to overlie the ledge surfaces of scoops of a companion stringer, and the projecting portion of the bottom side of the scoop terminating, at its ends, in laterally projecting ribs 19 increasing the area of the ledge surfaces 18. As shown, the spacing between the ledge surfaces 18 and the lower surface 16 is such as to permit abrupt folding of the stringers.
