Abstract

875,696. Lawn-mowers. TORO MANTTFACTURING CORPORATION. Sept. 9, 1957 [Dec. 27, 1956], No. 28438/57. Class 6(2). A lawn mower comprises a cutter cylinder 26 which may be motor-driven, mounted between side plates 10 and cooperating with an adjustable ledger blade 19, the cutting edges of the blades of the cutter cylinder being manufactured from a material which is softer than that of the edge 19a of the ledger blade so that the former are automatically sharpened by their shearing contact with the ledger blade. The ledger blade is mounted on a plate 18 fixed to a shaft 12 journalled in mounting brackets 10b which are integral with side plates 10 of the mower. The plate 18 is formed at each end with exten-. sions 18a and 18b provided with holes for the reception of bolts 21 and 22 respectively, which pass through slots in the mounting brackets 10b, and by adjusting the bolts the height and /or angle of the ledger blade may be varied.
