Abstract
862,923. Mixing. FILMFABRIC AGFA WOLFEN VEB. Aug. 26, 1957 [Sept. 28, 1956], No. 26903/57. Class 86 An apparatus for mixing a solid with a liquid has a rotor 3, Fig. 1, mounted with its surface adjacent to a housing, the cooperating surface of which is provided with inlet 1, Fig. 2, and outlet 2 cells, so that the materials enter the former, are carried round by the rotor across the intervening wall, to an outlet cell 2. To assist in disintegration of the solid matter, the face of the rotor may be provided with longitudinal grooves 6 of saw-tooth crosssection. The inlet and outlet cells may equally well be placed on the rotor instead of the housing and if they are arranged radially, as in Fig. 3 (not shown), co-operating flat surfaces can be mounted adjacent each face, so that the materials enter at the centre and pass outwardly to the periphery in the course of mixing.
