[Also in Group XXV] An adjustable wrench comprises a handle 3 with a longitudinal slot 1 through which extends slidably a handle 4 in which is pivoted the eye 8 of a locking member 7 with a pivot-pin 5 which engages at either end in slots 6 extending along the handle 3 in a plane at right angles to the slot 1 ; the locking member 7 being rockable in the handle 4 between a spring 11 and a slot 12 and having teeth 14 arranged on a spiral arc to engage selectively a tooth 15 on the handle 3 for positioning the pivot 5 in the slot 6.
