Abstract
851,200. Bobbins. CABLE MAKERS AUSTRALIA PROPRIETY Ltd. Oct. 22, 1958 [Oct. 30,1957], No. 33824/58. Class 120(3). [Also in Group XXVIII] A bobbin comprises two flanges 4 each with a perforated barrel stub 8 and a barrel 7 formed from a resilient sheet which is wrapped around the stubs 8 with the tongues 13 Fig. 3 entered in the perforations 9 and the barrel being retained in position against its tendency to unwrap by the cable coiled on the barrel. The tongues 13 may be spaced inwardly from the edges of the barrel sheet 7 as in Fig. 3 so that the edge portions of the sheet will wrap around the stub 8 and make edge contact with the flanges 4. A mandrel hole 12 is provided in the floor 11 of the stub 8 or the floor may be omitted.
