Abstract
859,995. Suitcases. SEGAL, M. July 1, 1959 [July 3, 1958], No. 21291/58. Classes 18 and 133. A suit or train case comprises a P.V.C. base panel 10 reinforced by a carboard panel 14, a P.V.C. wall panel 11 reinforced by a cardboard liner 154 welded by radio frequency to the base periphery which is flush with the lower edge thereof, and a lid hinged to the wall 11 formed of a P.V.C. panel 23 and flange 24 both of which have cardboard reinforcement 26, 28. The liner 15 fits against the wall 11 so that its lower edge has between the wall 11 and its rim 13 formed during welding, while the upper edge of the wall 11 is turned over the liner 15 as at 16, adhesive being used to secure the wall and liner together at both areas. A wire reinforcement 17 is secured by adhesive tape 18 and a second cardboard liner 19 fits within the liner 15 to project at 20 so that a surrounding ridge 21 is formed, the projecting part being covered with P.V.C. 22.
