Abstract
857,992. Radiation treatment apparatus. RUSCH, W. July 25, 1959, No. 25590/59. Class 98(1) A device for radiation treatment of body cavities consists of a resilient catheter-like tube 1 within which slides a further tube 2 completely enclosing the radioactive material 4. The inner tube 2 can be moved within the outer tube 1 from outside the device by means of a wire or thread 3. The insert 4, which may be radioactive cobalt, and may be gold-plated, can be in the form of separate short pieces of wire, as shown, so as to be readily adaptable to bending of the tube, or as a continuous thin wire.
