Abstract

855,816. Sorting solid materials. RIGLEY & SONS Ltd., W. Dec. 1, 1958 [Nov.30, 1957], No. 37388/57. Class 117 A rotary picking table 9 of annular form with sorting stations arranged around its inner and outer periphery is driven by a pinion 28 which meshes with a gear ring 27 attached to the table and composed of a number of identical dust segments which are preferably machined to fit each with the next. The pinion is driven by an electric motor 31 through a fluid flywheel 32, gearing 33, shaft 29 and coupling 34. The table is supported and centred by rollers engaging an annular guide rail attached to the table. Coal is delivered to the table ploughs 11-14, adjustably carried on supby a conveyer 10, and ports, are associated with bands of the table surface of successively decreasing radii, and deflect the sorted material to conveyers 15-18.
