The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0855486/IV(b)/1> and their acid addition salts, wherein R1 represents a thiophene, pyrrole a N-alkyl pyrrole radical (which may contain one or more halogen, alkyl or alkoxy substituents attached respectively to a carbon atom or carbon atoms thereof and R2 represents an aralkyl radical, a saturated dicyclic hydrocarbon radical containing not more than seven carbon atoms or a saturated branched-or straight-chain aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing not more than seven carbon atoms and the preparation thereof by (a) condensing an acid of the general formula: <FORM:0855486/IV(b)/2> or a salt thereof, with a substituted hydrazine of the general formula: H2N-NH-R2 in the presence of an N,N1-disubstituted-carbodiimide, and if desired, converting the condensation product into an acid addition salt or, if an acid addition salt, into the base or (b) reacting a hydrozide of the above acid with an appropriate carbonyl compound and simultaneously or consecutively reducing the resulting hydrazone of the carbonyl compound.
