Abstract
843,852. Transformers. SMITH & SONS (ENGLAND) Ltd., S. May 6, 1958 [May 20, 1957], No. 15986/57. Class 38 (2). A hollow plastic bobbin for a tapped transformer or other coil has its flanges stepped at 14 (Fig. 3) to increase their thickness at the edges, the thickened portions being provided with T- shaped channels 16 (Fig. 7) to accommodate tags 17 (Fig. 10). The tappings are brought out through slots 15 in the flanges for connection to the tags which are bent to hold them in the channels. Fig. 12 shows the bobbin incorporated in a transformer with a core of interleaved laminations held together by bolts 26 between side members 22, 23.
