849,006. Moulding building elements ; plaster compositions. SUPERLINE STRUCTURAL PRODUCTS (PTY) Ltd. May 28, 1957 [May 28, 1956], No. 16910/57. Classes 22 and 87(2). [Also in Group X] A moulding assembly for forming a building panel comprises a frame 10 having tongues 12 around its inner edges, and a core consisting of cell-forming elements 15 separated by spaces R for forming ribs on the surface of the panel. The core elements are supported by ribs 14 and an outer frame 13 so shaped that the elements 15 are suspended within the frame 10. In a modification, Figs. 2-4 (not shown), the cell-forming elements comprise sheet metal trays with tapering sides, the trays being supported by channel-section ribs. Holes are provided in the frame 10 to receive twine T for reinforcing the ribs of the panel. The twine may be prestressed by attaching it to bars (not shown) spaced from the sides of the mould and supported by screw-threaded means from the mould and by operating the screws to move the bars away from the mould. A board 16 is fitted in the frame 10 and the plaster mix may be poured before or after the core is placed in position. Plaster composition. The plaster mix for the panel consists of small grain exfoliated vermiculite, gypsum and lime in the proportions by volume of 1¢ : 1 : 1/10, mixed with water and a small quantity of chopped horse-hair, sisal, coconut fibre &c.
