Abstract
831,439. Magnetic core structure. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. April 11, 1958 [April 11, 1957], No. 11937/57. Class 38 (2). A magnetic core for a transformer is formed from a stack of laminations, with at least one pair of adjacent laminations spaced apart, to allow the flow of a coolant, such as oil, by insulating bars or strip-like spacers. The spacers are located, particularly during manufacture, by strips e.g. of press-board, preformed by bonding or moulding with the requisite number of channels desired to receive and locate the spacers associated with them. Central ducts 8 may be formed along the core limbs or yokes by spacers 7, parallel to or at an angle to their axes, located by bent strips 9 fixed vertical to the axes at intervals along the core parts.
