Abstract
836,693. Draught excluders. BRIGHT, T. J. R. May 28, 1956 [Feb. 28, 1955], No. 5902/55. Class 20(3) [Also in Group XXV] A seal for a sliding window, particularly in a vehicle, comprises a continuous clip 6, capable of universal bending movement, for attachment to a supporting flange adjacent the window, and an effective portion 4 of fabric or like flexible material which has a pile surface 5 only over the portion which makes rubbing contact with the window, the longitudinal edges of the fabric 4 being secured to the clip 6 so that it serves to hold a sponge rubber or other soft support 26 in position on one limb of the clip. One limb of the clip may have pressed out portions 28, 28a at its upper and lower ends to hold the longitudinal edges of the fabric, tangs 27a also being provided to engage the support 26. In a modification the base has pressed out portions to grip one edge of the fabric 4 or the base may have a folded portion for this purpose. In a further form the longitudinal edges of the fabric are held by tangs 27 provided on the upper end of each limb of the clip. Specifications 631,890, 649,137, 700,254 and 707,759 are referred to.
