Abstract

827,999. Agricultural implement. SOLNESS, T. T. Feb. 19, 1957 [Feb. 22, 1956], No. 5558/57. Class 6(1). A cultivator comprises an upper frame 10 in which is mounted a rotor provided with blades 54 and a lower frame 11 on which is mounted shear blades 23. The frames are relatively adjustable by means of a handle 67 and are provided with arms 12, 13 for connection to a U-shaped member 78 pivoted by means of studs 84 on the tractor adjustable groundwheels 72 are provided and the arms 13 are connected to a hydraulic lift linkage on the tractor. The rotor is in two parts driven by means of differential gearing from a shaft 32 incorporating a clutch 30 connected to the tractor power shaft. The member 78 is provided with a spring 80 which abuts against a nut 87 in a member 86 anchored to the tractor. Rearward movement of the member 78 against spring 80 causes a pin 91 to raise a catch 94 on a spring urged rod 96 which by means of a cable 101 disconnects the tractor clutch, the rod 96 being reset by means of a handle 103. In a modification a fixed blade may be mounted above the blade 23, the blade being formed with a concave provided with tines, which partially surround the rotor blades.
