811,591. Stud and socket fasteners; hinges. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. Sept. 3, 1957 [Sept. 4, 1956], No. 27013/56. Classes 44 and 65(2) A fastener for removably attaching e.g. a pin 24 to an apertured plate 25 is formed of U-shape from a strip of spring metal so as to have a nose 10, a pair of spaced limbs 11, 12, a neck 13 and a pair of outwardlyflared lips 14, 15, the nose 10 and a portion 11A, 12A of each limb adjacent thereto being of reduced width to form shoulders 16, 17. The portions 11A, 12A are each formed with a pair of prongs 22, 23 cut and bent out of their edges and, when the fastener is pushed into the aperture 26 in the plate 25, the prongs 22, 23 will snap into engagement with the underside of the plate with the shoulders 16, 17 abutting against the upper side thereof. The fastener may be removed from the aperture 26 by pinchimg together the limbs 11, 12, and the pin 24 is engaged in or disengaged from the fastener by snapping it through the neck 13. The pin 24 may be carried by a cover member for attaching the latter to the plate 25, or it may form a hinge pin.
