Abstract
815,659. Loading kiln cars. GATZKE, P. Oct. 9, 1956, No. 30720/56. Class 51 (2). [Also in Group XVII] Roof tiles or similar ceramic articles are stacked upright on kiln cars in piles lying one above the other and held in place by corrugated or ridged refractory strips on top or alongside each pile to leave spaces between the tiles of the pile and support the pile above or alongside. Tiles 3 stacked on edge at a small inclination are spaced apart and held in position by corrugated refractory strips 5. Wedge-shaped refractory supports 4 maintain the stability of the inclined tiles. Supports 4 may be placed at the ends of the rows, alternate rows slanting in opposite directions, and support bars of refractory material may extend longitudinally of the kiln cars.
