802,204. Ceiling coverings. HARRIS & SHELDON (ELECTRICAL), Ltd. Oct. 20, 1955 [Oct. 28, 1954], No. 31096/54. Class 20(4) ,[Also in Group XXV] A light diffuser for suspending from a main ceiling beneath fluorescent lighting comprises a plurality of cellular units 1 connected together to lie in the same plane, by means of clips 3. Each unit 1 is divided up into cells 2 and has L-shaped horizontal flanges 5 at the corners, each arm of the flanges being cut away at 6 to receive a clip 3. The side wall 4 of the outer frame of each unit 1, is provided at its base with an outwardly projecting ledge and integral flange 8 forming a clip receiving groove 9. Each unit 1 may be moulded from a plastic. To connect two units 1 together, the flanges 8 are abutted and the clips 3 are pushed into position so that opposed arms 12 on each clip engage the respective unit 1, with tongues 13 on the arms 12 snap engaging beneath the flanges 5, whilst legs 10 on each clip 3 pass between the units 1 and lugs 14 on the lower end of each leg 10 enter the grooves 9. In a modification the cell walls and the outer frame of each unit are not integral. Specification 802,205 is referred to.
