Abstract

806,558. Brushes, handles. CLEMENS, G. S. Feb. 1, 1957 [Feb. 10, 1956], No. 3610/57. Classes 19 and 61. The outer ends of bristles disposed along the head E of a toothbrush lie on a fragment of an arcuate convex envelope that is so shaped that the centre of curvature of all parts of the fragment lies on the opposite side of the handle H to the bristles. The handle H of the brush comprises a cylindrical shank S leading into a rectangular portion 30 having indentations 38 for the fingers. The rectangular portion merges into a tapering portion 32 of diamond cross section lying symmetrically of a plane containing a diagonal of the rectangular portion 30. The stock S of the brush may be secured by a set screw 102 in a block 100 that can be slid along a slot in a handle H having flats 134, 142 forming finger grips. The block 100 is secured in the handle H by a set screw 104.
