Abstract

799,749. Roller conveyers. UNITED STATES STEEL CORPORATION. Nov. 19, 1956 [Dec. 27, 1955], No. 35355/56. Class 78 (i). A conveyer for centring and aligning objects supported on their outer boundaries, e.g. barrels with chimes, comprises rollers 10, each of which consists of a pair of frusto-conical rollers 16 supported on a stationary bent shaft 12 with their smaller ends adjacent. Each roller has spaced webs 18, 20, 22 with central bearings. The webs 22 are connected by pins 32 to rotate together. In a modification the rollers 16 are generally cylindrical with slightly tapered portions at their inner ends.
