781,310. Broaching. DISTILLERS CO., Ltd. Oct. 5, 1955 [Oct. 30, 1954], No. 31403/54. Class 83 (3). A method of broaching consists in conducting carbondioxide into a bore 3 in the tool 1 and allowing it to expand in the cutting region. The carbon-dioxide may escape from the bore 3 to the leading or trailing edges of the teeth through passages 7. The gas may be refrigerated during its passage from a storage-container to the stationary delivery-pipe 4. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifceation 760,812.
