780,499. Stud and socket fastenings. HARVEY & CO. (LONDON), Ltd., G. A. Sept. 16, 1955 [Sept. 28, 1954], No. 27943/54. Class 44. A device for use in the assembly of shelving, partitioning and the like of the kind comprising a plurality of structural elements 20 provided with apertures which may be brought into register so that said device may be passed through them to secure the elements together, comprises a headed pin 1 with a transverse slot in the end of the stem 1<SP>1</SP> thereof, an elongated catch element 3 pivotally secured in the slot so that it may be disposed either at right angles to the stem or in, co-extending relationship therewith, a washer 5 slidably mounted on the pin between the head 1<SP>2</SP> thereof and the catch element, the width of the catch element being such that the washer cannot pass over it and will therefore always be captively retained on the pin, and a compression spring 6 disposed between the head of the pin and the washer
