Abstract
785,898. Draught excluders. KNAAP, J. Nov. 4, 1955, No. 31590/55. Class 20(3) A draught excluder for doors and windows comprises a securing strip having a web portion 1, Fig. 5, for attaching it to a surface and a hollow beading 2 along one edge which encloses the thickened portion 4 of a weather strip, the latter having a resilient tongue 6 which projects outwards to engage the co-operating surface. As shown applied to a window sill the beading 2 forms a stop in association with the face 14 of a water shield 13. Another shield 15 is provided on the window. In a modification, Fig. 2, two beadings 2, 3, are provided, one of which houses the portion 4 and the other of which forms a stop. The draught excluder may be mounted with the positions of the beadings 2, 3, interchanged. The excluder is applicable to sash windows.
