770,485. Reciprocating generators. BOSCH GES., R. Feb. 8, 1955 [Feb. 16, 1954], No. 3661/55. Class 35. [Also in Groups XI and XXXVII] A magneto-electric igniter for igniting the pilot burner of a gas-heated appliance (see Group XI) is operated by pushing the brass bar 59 carrying the core member 58 to the left to separate the member 58 from the attracting magnetic core 57 of the magnetic circuit including yokes 52, 53, of the permanent magnet 51, thereby decreasing the magnetic flux inside the primary coil 54 short-circuited by contact breaker 60, 61 and causes a high current to circulate in the said coil, continued movement of the bar 59 operating the arm 63 to open the contact breaker 60, 61, to produce a sudden interruption of the current in the primary coil, thereby inducing a high voltage impulse in the secondary coil 55 connected across the spark gap. A condenser C is connected across the contacts 60, 61.
