Abstract

775,855. Bracelets. KINZINGER, R. Sept. 15, 1955 [Oct. 9, 1954], No. 26384/55. Class 43. An expansible link band or bracelet comprises a plurality of substantially rectangular outer cover links 4 of flat tubular formation open in the direction of extension of the link band and each housing a frame member 1 which is held against movement therein, with a plurality of substantially rectangular connecting-links 3 of flat tubular formation open in the direction transverse to the direction of extension of the band, each connecting- link 3 being shiftably located within one cover link 4 and embracing with its closed ends one end of the frame member 1 within that cover link and the adjacent end of the frame member within an adjacent cover link, there being a pressure spring 2 interposed within each cover link, between the connecting-link 3 and the open end of the appertaining frame member 1 embraced by it, so that a pull on the link-band results in partial extraction of each connecting-link from its associated cover link against the resistance of the spring. Each frame member 1 is of substantially rectangular formation and is formed from a length of wire with the ends spaced apart to provide a gap la enabling a connecting-link 3 to be inserted within it in the manner illustrated. The frame member 1 may be formed with one or more nibs or projections 5 which interengage with a corresponding recess, or recesses, 6 in the adjacent part of the cover link 4. Alternatively, the parallel limbs of the frame members 1 and the inside faces of the cover links against which they abut may be formed with corrugations or undulations to hold the parts against relative longitudinal movement. The cover links 1 and the connecting-links 3 may consist of thermoplastic material.
